Introduction

Evaluation is essential for informed decision making and improvement of the curriculum contents, instructions, and assessment, as well as total quality management. In the College of Medicine, we are extensively involved in curriculum activities to ensure that all our program components are evaluated. In addition, all stakeholders including students, faculty, service providers’ leaders etc. are participating in evaluation activities.

Goal

To foster the development and quality maintenance of educational programs at KSAU-HS generally, and its College of Medicine particularly, through a systematic program of relevant, accurate, comprehensive, and multifaceted evaluation, feasibly conducted within the resource capacity of the College and University.

Objectives

  • To delineate, obtain, and provide evaluation data for programmatic decision-making, based on evaluation plans tailored to specific responsibilities and projects.
  • To provide evaluation, observations and formative recommendations for educational program development, revision, and/or augmentation on a systematic and timely basis.
  • To establish and implement active, responsive, ongoing evaluative feedback specifically related to innovative aspects of the KSAU-HS College of Medicine educational program, for both rapid response and subsequent-cycle decision-making.
  • To facilitate the utilization of evaluation findings through proper organizational channels for implementation in remedial phases.
  • To develop and provide an efficient and useful operational model, both in structure and practice; one which sets a standard for other units within the University - for educational units generally and for evaluation units specifically – and other institutions in both regional and international venues.
  • To actively engage in scholarly dialogue with health education and evaluation communities in local, regional, and international venues through scholarly presentations.

Strategies
