Profile

Dr. Omair joined the College of Medicine in 2009. His specialty is in the field of research and he is an active member of the Research Unit in the College of Medicine. His strengths are in the field of health research, epidemiology, and biostatistics. He takes part in conducting workshops on SPSS and Research methods as well as MCQ writing for the Faculty Enhancement workshops. He is also the statistical reviewer for the Journal of Pakistan Medical Association.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinator of the Research Unit in the College of Medicine – Administrative responsibilities including the scheduling of sessions, students research assignments and presentations. 
  • Medical Research Project – Conducting sessions on research methods and SPSS for the medical students, facilitating the medical students in their research projects, evaluating and providing feedback on the students research proposals and research presentations, providing office consultations for preparing the research proposal as well as for data analysis and presentation, co-supervisor of student groups for their research projects.
  • Problem Based Learning – Tutor activities for the PBL sessions of medical students.
  • Masters in Medical Education – Co-coordinator for the blocks on ‘Basics of Research in Education’ and ‘Masters Project’, evaluating and providing feedback on the MME students assignments for the preparation of their research proposals, providing statistical consultation for the MME students for their research projects, co-supervisor of the MME students in their research projects.
  • Faculty Enhancement Unit workshops – Conducting workshops on research methods, SPSS, MCQ writing, and Turnitin for the faculty in different colleges of KSAU-HS
